Late September, every year, Perth holds an agricultural show. It’s been running since 1831, and it’s held at the Claremont Showgrounds, on a piece of land, that measures 558 square metres, so it’s not small.
There are animals, of all kinds, assorted exhibits, and showground rides, as well as confectionary show bags which I used to love as a child, and; if I’m honest, I always buy one or two chocolate ones now.
There are; horse riding events, and sheepdog trials, you can even; pat-a-pig. You’ll find incredible, bakery and floral competitions, as well numerous other events. This year they even had a ‘Dinosaur Adventure’ for which, I stood, for 10 minutes, quite happily; in the hot sun.
It’s quite an experience, especially for children, and I try to go most years, if only to cuddle a few animals, and I thought I’d let you enjoy a small sample of ‘The Show’ over my next few posts, starting with; some of the amazing food and Floral displays.
