Are these children; Indigo, Crystal or Rainbow souls?
My day started, with me being; overwhelmed by a tsunami of someone else’s discontent – this was even before, I’d had my first cuppa.
I sat for 30 minutes listening to gripes & groans, about how this person wasn’t happy with their life, and the changes they wanted to make, and it made me realise……
My Soul; Is Tired!
If, like me, you’re a listener, a volunteer, a doer-for-others, then perhaps you’ve also reached the same point in life I have, whereby; you want to ask; as the song says, “What about me? It isn’t fair!”
I’m not meaning to sound; selfish, self-centred, or even unwilling to help, because I’ll gladly do anything for anyone, in fact, I enjoy doing things for other people and am a great, believer, in being an instigator, when; paying-it-forward.
I find it natural to help someone else, and I’m sure many of you feel the same but has it occurred to any of us ‘givers’ it’s very easy to be taken for granted, and sometimes, we forget; what’s best for ‘You’.
To give you some recent, examples from my own life…….
Whilst walking back from the gym this morning; an acquaintance gave me a brand-new bookcase. It was small but lovely, and I carried this gift, several hundred yards home, only; to automatically offer it to my mother, who expressed a liking for it – Being a ‘giver’, it was an innate reaction to do this, even though; I wanted the item myself (fortunately, mum said no, but I would’ve gladly handed it over).
Then, a few days ago, I was talking to a young nephew & niece, who I see infrequently, as they live in another state when they asked if they could feed the ducks. I enquired of them, would this be permissible with their father (he was absent at the time) only to be told “Daddy said you’d take us to the lake, to feed the ducks”…….I was happy to do it, but was disconcerted; to discover myself being volunteered without any actual input.
If this, or similar situations occur in your life, like me; you must remember…….
This; is Your Life!
And, you too, are entitled to choices.
You can help whomever, whenever, but not at the detriment to self.
You deserve better, and ‘are’ the most valuable person in your life.
Remember; gratitude is something, ‘you’ are also entitled too.
Don’t get, me wrong; doing-for-others, can be a wonderful experience, in fact, I had another incident, recently, whereby I happily pitched in, and not only enjoyed it immensely, but I learnt something new, which may aid me, in a future venture. I also received a lovely expression of thanks.
To give; an abridged version……
I received a random phone call from a lady (Lynne) in Canada, who was looking for some childhood friends, she’d known in Perth 50 years ago. It transpired they had my surname, and Lynne was hoping to visit them, during a future trip – therefore, I took it upon myself to do some research online, and ‘may’ have located these people for her, after discovering their marital names……I’m still awaiting confirmation that they’re the correct people, but even so, the task was no hardship, at all.
Misquoting the Bible, what I’m trying to say with this post, is;
Do unto You, As, you would wish done, unto Others.
In Other Words:
Don’t Forget You!!!
And, Make 2016 ‘The Year Of You!!’
As some of you may know I live very close to a lake, which has incredible grounds, where you’ll frequently find dog walkers, picnickers, and joggers. In fact, I spend a lot of time there myself, and was about to walk around the lake when; I had a ‘moment’ by that I mean, someone made a very thought-provoking comment to me.
I was crossing the road outside my home, shortly after feeding my little magpie family, when all of a sudden a huge black Labrador – on a leash – came charging at me, with its’ poor human (a very nice lady) being dragged along in his wake.
When, this creature reached me, he literally tried to crawl up my body and planted his front paws on my shoulders, a huge tongue lolling in front of my face.
His owner, whilst trying to apologise, advised, “He never does that to anyone. I’ve never seen him do it before”. Naturally, I explained that I have an affinity for all animals and that one of my brother-in-laws has even nicknamed me; The Dog Whisperer.
Her reply; “Perhaps, that’s your calling, and it looks like you’re also a bird-whisperer too”.
And, it made me step back and think; is that what I’m here for? I’ve worked with my spiritual abilities, and enjoy writing, but I also crave; something else. Is this it?
Do you know what ‘Your Calling’ is, or, have you already found it?
A few days ago, I received a very distressing email, in relation to a wonderful woman called Carolyn Lazarus, who I’d only known via email communication whilst discussing some guest posts, I was writing for a site she co-founded called Totally For Women. We’d only corresponded 3 or 4 times, but I found her to be; kind, compassionate, very likeable, and a great believer in the strength & capacity of women.
I’d only spoken to Carolyn late January, via email, but then lost touch, primarily due to life’s twists & turns. So imagine my dismay to discover, very recently, that this lovely lady had been diagnosed with cancer in February, and sadly passed away in May.
Since, I received this terrible news, it’s made me realise that we must try to; maintain our contact with our network of friends and acquaintances because we never know what is happening in their lives. Also, we have to really live each and every day, because; this life we’re living can be very short, at times. And whilst; I’m firm believer in Spirit, and I know Carolyn will always walk beside her loved ones, I would like to take a moment to wish them love & blessings during this heartbreaking time, and express my gratitude, that Carolyn was a part of my life, even for such a short period of time……….She was truly a lady, who; had a loving soul, gave her time willingly and really “Paid It Forward”.
During the difficult times of life, don’t feel discouraged, for if we look hard enough;
we’ll always find a little magic somewhere.
From the affection; in your families eyes,
To the companionship; given by a friend.
The warmth and tenderness felt when cuddling a favourite pet.
A child’s tinkling laughter that can bring; an answering smile.
Flowers blooming, in glorious colour,
Changing seasons, that add beauty and growth.
White cotton wool clouds; floating across a clear sky,
Rainbows shimmering with colour, after the rain.
Amazing creatures that roam; across wide, and beautiful lands,
People of many races, yet with like-minded souls.
Words of kindness and comfort offered with love,
A helping hand, held out, and freely given when required.
Someone who listens; when tears start to fall,
A shoulder, to lean on; when problems arise.
If we just take a minute, to look at our world,
We’ll see Magic all around us, a real joy to behold.
So, on days when your path seems troublesome and weary,
Remember that you have; enchantment around you,
That has no price, all it requires, is we open our eyes.
Self care is never selfish act it is good stewardship
of the only gift I have
The gift I put on earth to offer to others
When you adopt the view point that there is nothing that exists that is not a part of you
That any judgement you make is self judgement
That any criticism
you will wisely extend to yourself
An unconditional love that will be the light of the world
why should we worry about others think of us
Do we have more confident in
In their opinions than we do our own
To establish true self esteem
we must concentrate on our successes
And forget about the failures and nigative in our lives
A healthy self love means we have no
Compulsion to justify to justify to ourselves
Or other authors why we take vacation
Why we sleep late who we buy new shoes
